Peter Ackerman, PA-C, ATC
Peter Ackerman has been a Physician Assistant for Danbury Orthopedics since 2011. He has experience working beside multiple doctors in the office and operating room. Pete has assisted in a plethora of diverse surgeries ranging from minimally invasive arthroscopies to total joint replacements of the knees, shoulders, hips and ankles. As of 2015, he is working exclusively with Dr. Angelo Ciminiello, which means Pete will be assisting in all of the physician's office hours and surgeries. This includes assisting Dr. Ciminiello with All-Inside ACL reconstructive surgeries, a new and innovative technique which utilizes arthroscopic instrumentation with smaller incisions and is a less invasive way of repairing a tear so that patients experience less trauma and easier recovery.
With over twelve years of experience in the sports medicine field as an athletic trainer and strength and conditioning specialist, Pete has worked as the athletic trainer for both Immaculate High School and New Fairfield High School. Pete has also helped organize and implement education clinics for the Western Connecticut Sports Medicine Society along with Immaculate High School.
Pete currently coaches little league baseball and stays active himself by participating in obstacle course races as well as playing in a men's baseball league. With Pete's experience in sports medicine education, athletic training and being an athlete himself comes full understanding of the demands placed upon an athlete's body and the desire to return to normal day to day activities.
