J. Albert Diaz, MD is a specialist in the field of orthopaedics and sports medicine. Dr. Diaz completed his orthopaedic residency training at The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, and his sports medicine fellowship at the Minneapolis Sports Medicine Center where he served as Assistant Team Physician to the Minnesota Vikings and Timberwolves. He attended Dartmouth College and the Tulane University School of Medicine.
Dr. Diaz is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He holds a dual appointment at Danbury Hospital and Danbury Surgical Center.
Dr. Diaz treats a variety of orthopaedic conditions and has a particular expertise in shoulder and knee injuries, as well as minimally invasive shoulder and knee arthroscopy. His approach favors non-operative treatment whenever possible. If surgery is necessary, Dr. Diaz works closely with his in-house physical therapy team to ensure optimal outcomes. In addition to sports-related problems, Dr. Diaz sees adults and children with general orthopaedic concerns such as fractures, arthritis, and other musculoskeletal complaints.
